Feeling at home in your clothes (and in your day)

Today, 10 October, is World Mental Health Day. This year's theme, chosen by the World Federation for Mental Health, is "Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change".

We love that. Because the first step is simple: listening. To the people around you. And to yourself.

A safe place, inside and out

Isar Things Shop started as a happy place made of colours. A corner of the internet where everyone is welcome, whoever they are, and where nobody has to explain themselves.

We're not experts, and clothes don't fix anything. But we do know this: some days, the small things count. A colour that makes you smile. A texture that feels like a hug. Getting dressed in something that feels like you, exactly as you are today.

Small things that feel good

No rules here, just a few gentle ideas:

  • Pick the soft one. On a heavy day, choose comfort first. Fuzzy, cosy, a little bit oversized. Wear it however you like.
  • Let a colour do some talking. A splash of coral or pink on a grey morning can feel like opening a window.
  • Keep it easy. You don't owe anyone a "look". Comfy is a look.
  • Wear what feels like home. Your body, right now, deserves clothes that are kind to it.

Coral fluffy cardigan with pearl buttons on a hanger

This coral cardigan is basically a warm hug with pearl buttons. Soft, bright and easy to throw on over anything. If it speaks to you, it's one-of-a-kind.

Real voices, heard

The theme this year asks us to hear lived experiences. So here's our small invitation: check in on someone today. Ask how they're really doing, and then just listen.

We talked about this on Instagram too, and your comments there are part of the conversation.

And if you're the one having a hard time, you don't have to carry it alone. Reach out to someone you trust, or to a local support service near you. Talking is a brave thing to do.

Be gentle with yourself today. You're welcome here, always. ๐Ÿ’›
